Little wallies in Pigeon are great to see. That means recruitment is taking place and the fishery is on its way to becoming self sustaining. Although this may not come as good news to the whitefish guys who got pretty reved up at the meeting in Thorsby last spring. Small is good.

Yes the walleye are spawning and reproducing. That is good news. But I am afraid we we will never see the numbers of Walleye that we seen a few years ago.
Not to worry about the whitefish. They died this summer. Anyone who says there was no whites left should have been out there a month ago. There were 1000's of big ones floating. I heard through the grapevine they took a couple truck loads away from Mameo beach a couple weeks ago.

In the last Pipestone paper there was an article that stated the count was 1800 picked up.

Either way 400-1800 fish is a lot. Thats only from one small side of the lake.

No i havent, i havent been doing much with the outdoors lately except for making sure my rifles are sighted in, and making sure i can keep 5 arrows in a 8 inch pieplate at 30 yards with the trad gear. Ive been so wrapped up with working extra runs to calgary and helping out with city P&D work, time with the family, and going to the gym 5 days a week for 2 hours after work mon-fri. I dont got time for much

Since Gull is only 30 miles away, not as deep, and gets the same weather as Pigeon, I am afraid of the same thing. It could make for a long winter of poor fishing at Gull.
