Default I missed this the first time too

He is actually not releasing a pike, the pike comes up from the water to grab the fish he's releasing, watch again!

Wow does that bring back memories, that same thing happened to a buddy of mine when we were fishing Sturgeon Lake west of here, it wasn't as bad but nonetheless he almost jumped out of the canoe.

He's starting to bring in a little pickerel about 15", and he reaches down for it and has it just by the tail end and all of a sudden a HUGE pike latches onto the front portion of the pickerel almost getting his hand. ZZIIIINNNNNGGGGGG, off goes the drag, his rod tip in the water, then SNAP, it broke the line down by the lure.

He was like, "OMFG did you see that, holy f*^k did you see that??" I was laughing so hard and say repeatedly that yes I saw it. By the length of it in relation to a couple points on the canoe, we figured the pike was about 4-5ft at about 20lbs+.

Default killer pike

Nice spray of blood.
A real side buster if you ask me.
As long as it happens to a buddy
Any one but myself, really.

Default Ha ha

I shouldn't really laugh , that happened to me 11 years ago on the Nipigon river in northern Ont. Only it was a 27 inch rainbow and he didn't let go so easily , he held on for about 20 seconds and flipped around on it .Still have the love marks to prove it .
