Your best bet is probably east dollar lake. Take the road that goes to peace river and it is right outside of town. Lots of signs so you cant miss it

you wont find a lake closer to Valleyview than Sturgeon. East Dollar is 30 km from town, Access Sturgeon from the East side, through the res in front of the outlet creek and you will be within 15-20 km from town

Snipe lake is pretty close, can be hit or miss though. I don't think its any farther than Sturgeon.

swan is almost the same distance as sturgeon is. From my experience snipe is the best lake in the area. No people either. Pulled out to 15 pound pike last winter

Tough choice, I caught the largest perch of my life at Snipe, don't expect a bucket full, but there are some huge perch there. First time I went, we drilled holes in deeper water until a local came by and clued me in, they were fishing right in the middle and edges of the cat tails in about four feet of water. Swan can be fun also, a chance at a very large rainbow there. Sturgeon has a good variety of fish and allows for keeping some as well.
East Dollar are two nice little lakes, not overly fished, I found the browns were difficult to catch in winter.

Swan lake is farther west and south of Crooked Creek

Here is where Sturgeon and Snipe lakes are located,.. Sturgeon is closer than you think

Access to Sturgeon is by far the easiest and quickest.
Just continue on Hwy 43 past Valleyview and watch for the sign.
