Default Fishing Guide

How many of you use your fishing guide? I use both of mine constantly, both for the maps and for the information on limits and species of fish in a body of water. When I can't find the answer in one of my guides, that's when I'll ask around, but I find that between the two guides, the information is thorough enough that I don't really need to ask a lot of questions.

I pretty much read them both front to back lots of good info there. Just have to get to more of the lakes in Barry's guide.

I especially like Barry Mitchell's fishing guide. It has landed me in some excellent remote fishing areas that I will continue to return to. And considering he lives two doors down from me if I have any questions the answers aren't too far away...

Lucky you!! Tell him I buy 2 copies of his guide when they come out because they seem to be harder to find later on in the year...that way I always have a backup, hehe.

I thought he passed away a couple years back, now his son continues it?

I haven't seen him since fall. His son may write the guide now. I'm not sure on that one.

I always carry/read both of them. The back road map books are also a constant companion with me when I'm fishin off the beaten path.

Barry's Dad & Mom passed away several years ago in a vehicle accident. They did the Guide in the early days. Barry and his wife still produce the Guide.

I get the Barry's Guide every couple years since they're almost the same year to year. What is this other guide you speak of?

Thanks for the clarification Don. I was beginning to think I was seeing a 6' 5" ghost in waders carrying a fly rod outside my house.
