Looks like the Briggs and Stratton engine. If I remember correctly, Bass pro sold them, not sure if they still do. Stand to be corrected though.

If i remember correctly B & S started making them around 2000-2001. I always wondered how they would hold up...let us know an update after you get it in the water

Anything that gets you safely out fishing on a lake is a good thing. Don't fret about the noise ! All the ski boats will drown you out with there stereos going. Nothing like hearing Lady Gaga from a boat 2 miles up the lake.

A garage sale find of mine was a 7.5 hp briggs and stratton outboard engine marketed by Sears and endorsed by Ted Williams (famous angler and baseball hitter) that is an air-cooled two-stroker with a remote fuel tank.
It sometimes stalls at trolling speed, is smelly and smokey, but fires up every time. I'd say it is every bit of 40 years old, maybe more, but I have less than $250.00 dollars in it, and I actually ordered a prop, shear pin and carb kit for it from the service depot in Calgary about a dozen years ago. About 130 bucks.
It works well on my 12' Harbercraft that sees a lot of off-road and sometimes gets dragged/lugged a fair distance.
Either my machine is prettier or you did not display the cowl??

Free (to wait for ice-off)
