Can We Create an AO Archive?

Similar to Reddit and other forums would it be possible for the admin to create some sort of archive for the old threads. Something were threads lets say over a year old are automatically locked but still searchable? At least this way the information would not be lost.
I see a ton of threads being bumped by new users with comments like " me too", most likely just to raise their post count in order to access the buy and sell. Some of these threads are pushing 8 or 9 years old already. This often leads to confusion among the current members as the information is outdated or the OP has long since left ( or been kicked off) the forum. Usually these threads end up full of sarcastic remarks and enviably get locked by the mods anyways. Often it is the spammers that bump these threads so by creating an archive this should help prevent spam on the forum as well.

Anyways just a thought.
