Default Tofino/Port Hardy

Hey all,

I'm heading out to Vancouver island twice in August. Once to Tofino with the family and the second to Port Hardy for some real fishing. Never done any sea fishing but id like to give it a good try.

The week in Tofino is more of a family vacation so I'll be fishing from shore before everyone wakes up in the morning. Any tips on how to catch things like sole or surf perch from the beaches?

Second trip is up to Port Hardy where I will have a large boat and will be a dedicated fishing trip. I'm looking for any advice on salmon as it seems more difficult. Halibut info would be great too. Rockfish seem a lot easier as I've heard they will hit almost anything that moves, so I should be okay in that department.

Thanks in advance!
