Recoil Pad for Women
Was just browsing for a recoil pad, and came across this:
http://www.cabelas.ca/index.cfm?page...ction=&ID=4324
It is simply ingenious. It attaches to a lady's brassiere strap, and is worn underneath her clothing. It will eliminate the hassle of straps that run across the chest and interfere with "the girls."
I know it is a few months away . . . but this would be a great stocking stuffer.

"Stocking Stuffer"
Like Tree I must refrain from any comment on that one.
What about a recoil pad that slides over the butt of the rifle? That way you never forget it.

Does it come in various sizes?
Ya know, a 'thinner' one for light days, maybe just shooting a .22 or maybe a "heavy" one for shooting magnums?
Do they leave you feeling fresh after a days shooting?
Can you still swim with one?
Do you think there will be an overkill on TV commercials for these pads too?
Will men be embarrassed to go to the store and pick them up for their lady friend???

Geeesh, it takes a special kind of crowd to make me appear like the grown up Though perhaps I appreciate them for saying such things so that I don't have to.
BTW: Do they also fit manssiere's for the amply chested male?

DA, I have a Past recoil pad. They are good for extended range shooting where you can settle the gun into the crook of your shoulder while shooting off the bench. They will extend your lenght of pull as there is extra padding, and the gun will fit differently. As far as a hunting aid, forget it, they're a pain in the butt. A Limbsaver or Pachmayer is a better option as the stock may have to be slightly shortened to still give you the optimum lenght of pull. That is most critical when you shoulder the gun quickly and can pull off that shot that counts. Besides, the one you posted in your picture is the wrong colour for you, it doesn't match your seat covers.

I've seen shoe insoles that have very good shock absorbtion qualities; I understand that they utilize some sort of a silicone gel to achieve this performance; perhaps you should investigate if any such benefits would exist with some type of silicone shock absorbtion devices that you can wear in the front where you experience this discomfort. If such devices exist you will likely wish to try them, and then you can give us feedback that may help us help our wives who may encounter similar difficulties when enjoying the shooting sports.
Thanks in advance for keeping the shooting sports alive !

I wasn't sure I wanted to poke my head back into this thread.
gitrdun . . . It's okay if the pad is wrong colour. I'll just afix it to a pink bra. (Not sure about posting photos, FB . . . I may need to ask your wife first) And, wwbirds, my seat covers are not "hot" pink . . . they are a "medium" pink
Sorry about the little bit of "pad" revenge Caber. It was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.
In all seriousness . . .
I was thinking about one of these recoil pads as I have a gimpy collarbone on my right side: due to a complete fracture that wasn't set correctly over twenty years ago. I'm thinking that one of these might make the area a little smoother, and make it more comfortable and easier to hold a rifle.
A silcone pad like a shoe insole (or even cutting up a non-liquid-filled shoe insole) over the break might be a good idea: thinner and more flexible.
