Well, I guess if people want to use my joke it must have been a good one. But I'm still not taking one for the team.

Thats going to be a long suspension for that clown from the wings. 10 games? I think thats the standard.
Tak will get something. But that was not spearing.
Ferland for throwing punches from the bench?

Its going to be interesting.

Not to many saints on a flames team who lost in every area in that game.

Wow, just watched the highlights on Youtube. I say Gazdic might get a call up when the Flames meet the Wings again.

With the Flames current line-up they can't play into old time hockey. There is a whole other weight class and fighting level above Ferland.

I was surprise Engelland didn't mix it up with the Oilers the other night, definitely 1 of the best in the league at throwing the mitts.

No more games between these teams. Kinda disappointing really.

While that is true, there aren't many/any? players on the Wings who are in that weight class either. I do miss the Kraken though.

Any predictions on what Tkachuk will get? I'm guessing a stern talking to and a fine. Pretty tough to suspend a guy who pokes someone with their stick.

It's a little more than a poke since the player had already been escorted off the ice by an official. This might be similar to when Hartley was fined for putting the goon line on against the Canucks for the 1st shift and a line brawl occurred. I don't know what rule it would fall under but it is similar in nature and result.

Usually the need for suspensions is intent to injure so I can’t imagine it won’t just be a fine. Calling it a spear is a little rediculous and makes what Drai did to Tierney or Marchand did to Dotchin more akin to assault on the gentlemen’s region.

I can only hope Witkowski inflicts supplementary discipline next time these teams play.

Well that’s not very nice. Maybe our old friend Manning can take McD back to the boards and break the other collarbone while he’s at it. Oh wait that might make the oil better.....

Forgot it was an early game, and was working....missed all but the last 10 and OT. Didn't see a single goal other than frolik's winner...dang! So, a Hattie for Monahan and one for Johnny. Nice! Still perfect in OT and SO!

Was great to see them win but man the defence is giving me grey hairs...seemed like Philly was on a power play most of the third....two shots ringed off the post though!!!!

Good thing an ugly win is still a win. Nice to see Smith back, but I thought he had moments where he still looked like he was in pain.

I didn't realize this was Monahan's first ever NHL hat trick. Good for him and the confidence of that line.

They won?1?1?
I turned off off too soon I guess.

I will say one thing about this team...
They don't seem to give up which is a good trait.

Had to go to page 9 of TSN point stats to find Leon.....14 points....Johnny has 29! He's even ahead of McJesus (25).

Flames taking the Caps to the wood shed tonight, 3 pp goals (that's 6 in the last two games!).....Johnny with a goal and assist so far, still 10 minutes to go but 4-1 is a healthy margin so far!

Edit: apparently Gio's goal was after penalty expired so only 2/5 on pp so far.

Can't believe some people didn't pick Johnny in the pool. He's gotten 19 pts in the last, including tonights, 20 games.
