Anyone been a wholesale lately, I'm looking for a new auto skeet thrower, mine got stolen over the weekend, it was a Do-All Raven. I still have the foot pedal and remote control so a lot a good it will do the POS.

I dropped by Wholesale Sports on the weekend. The discounts are lame because their sale is being controlled by a liquidator. 10-15% off regular price, big whoop. I mentioned the Cabelas midnight madness sale while waiting in line and the cashier said Cabela’s deals are way better, the liquidator even took away their staff discount hah

I went couple of days ago and there was nothing. I mean nothing I wanted that was on sale for less than Cabelas, even ammo with 10% off was still more than at Cabelas. they are trying to catch people off guard with the big sale signs.

I suggest you pull out your phone and price check every item before you buy. unless you are in the business of throwing away money.

You have to look, but there are some deals. I bought an electronic dog collar that was 20% off. I asked Cabelas if they would match the price and they said absolutely not.

I was there last weekend as well - like sns2 says, there are some deals there - For instance, some treestand accessories are 50% off. But I walked out of there empty-handed.

To the OP: That sucks about your thrower. Next time I'm in there I'll see if they have any on sale...

I got a choke for 50% off at Edmonton North.
Some reloading stuff is at 20% now...
Firearms still only 10% (but at least I could tell my wife I got a "deal", that's really all that matters).

Just wait and keep checking. More and better deals are on the way.

Sad to see them go

Was in yesterday and purchased a case of score 12 gauge steel shot. Figured with the sale price it was a deal. Got home and looked at the price I paid last winter for same ammo and it was a 1.25 per box more with sale!

No need to compete. They (BassPro/Cabelas) already won, and will have ALL the business soon.

Bingo, plus there is a real cost associated with their generous return policy.

Went there last night - nothing special. Scopes 15% off, rifles 10% - most of the reloading stuff can still be bought on amazon cheaper.

I do have my eye on a rifle though* - if it comes down to 30% off, or even 25% off I might buy it.

(*I can't tell you, its a secret )

I heard that firearms will never be more than 10% off.

Got some hard to find ammo from ws, 10$-20$ cheaper per box than anyone in calgary(most respectable gun shops in town don't even have it in stock). There are some deals to be had but you have to look hard.

Does anyone know for sure what time the working hours for Wholesale sports tomorrow (Sunday) in Grande Prarie?
I need to be in GP for 6 PM and need to stop at the store, but definitely would not want to come down much earlier than that.

Dropped by WSS at South Common in Edmonton after work. Saw a TIKKA Hunter combo (stainless steel & Burris Scope) in 270 for 1274.99 after 15% off. Couldn't resist, picked it up. Thank you Bill for awesome service as always. Hope the good employees find decent jobs post WSS.

Was at the North store today. Bought a few things. You know the end is close when they are advertising the shelves, furniture from lunch room and so on. Bathroom looked like a hurricane hit it. One would think they could at least keep it clean. Two guys behind gun counter & as far as I could see they were doing their best. Some guy walks in & complains bitterly about the pricing. Guys behind the counter said they don't set the prices.

Bathroom was clean the other day at south store.

Looks like a flea market moved a bunch of stuff in that WSS never carried.

There is no doubt that they raised prices on guns before the "liquidation" started. They are just coming in line now with what the regular prices are. Joke.

I won't miss WSS. Their prices were not competitive. Even now with a liquidation their prices are still not any better than Cabelas. I only hope Cabelas doesn't abuse this after WSS is gone...

Anyone been to the South store in the past couple days? Wondering what the discount on firearms is at. Was in there on Friday and it was still at 25%.

Prior to the liquidation WSS prices were for the most part very competitive with everyone else. For the most part I always shop for the best price and most of the time that was WSS.
