If anyone is looking for a high end rod, the fishin hole had a few G Loomis and st. Croix rods on for 40% off. Unfortunately they were mostly one piece rods which I wasn’t in the market for.

I bought raffle tickets, sausage on a bun, and some mini donuts.

$16 for parking was pretty steep. Yeesh.

Good event as always though.

Couple raffle tickets and a few Savage Gear bits from The Fishin' Hole. Planned on buying a few more, but someone literally bought all of them 5 minutes after I left.

Picked up a G Loomis E6X casting rod at 40% off for chucking big swimbaits.

Sold a couple Princecrafts as well.

I had heard that TFH wasn't attending this year. Dang, that's one of the main reasons I didn't attend.

They were in the usual spot. It seems as though many manufacturers decided to not have their own booths, but have their reps in TFH booth instead. Rapala, Shimano, Quantum, etc. Lots of folks to talk to about the specific product you are looking at.

Ah, I didn't realize that this was for the Edmonton show, I was thinking Calgary. I see that TFH attended the Calgary show this year as well. I was misinformed

In and out in 2 hrs last night, no interest in 3 halls of boats unless I win the lotto. Bought one raffle ticket. Cost more to park on asphalt than get in, that sucked. Missed seeing the Jaw Jacker sale. DOH.

Yes and no.

TFH was at the Calgary show, but only in a small 10' booth and with only some electronics to actually sell. The did NOT have their typical space and all their products there this year like in the past. They ran a sale at the Calgary store location instead.

They do have their normal large booth setup at the Edmonton show.

Some of the goodies I picked up! Also had a chance to tie my first fly! The tinglers and the other hyperglide knockoffs from falcon tackle were soooo cheap

I went in there looking for a new pack rod, found TFH had an ugly stik GX2 shakespeare spinning 4pc combo on sale. Perfect for what I needed (something able to break down small enough to fit in my backpack for some back country stuff).

Also grabbed a bunch of lures from Cabelas' bargain bin.

As a whole though, the show was kind of disappointing. Probably won't go again. (didn't actually save any money on the rod, probably ended up paying more with the $32 parking and entrance fee).

They are coming out with a second version of the PowerPro SuperSlick as the coating in the original frayed and peeled off too easily. I think TFH has the second version in now.

I believe the fishin hole had the new stuff in when I visited last month, but to be honest I didn't know what improvements have been made, good to know.

The earlier version of super slick has served me well. It definitely fades and frayes a bit with use like some other superlines but functionally I have no issue with it. I have some reels that have had the same line on for longer than I care to admit and have had zero issues.

The G Loomis E6X I got was lonely so I had to get a reel to keep it company. Shimano TranX 301 should do the trick. Excited to get it out on some open water!

Nothing, but I did find a rifle I had just bought for cheaper and rang the shop up from the show floor and they price matched on the spot. Stand up bunch out there in Lloyd.
