Default 2010 Pumpkins

Just put my little guy to sleep after a great night of pumpkin carving. It was his first time really helping as he's two and a half but he loved it. I think I had more fun than though. It was like being a kid all over again for me.

Here's a few pictures of the finished pumpkins... Feel free to add your own as they are carved too!!

Looks good, Shooter! I'll post pics in a couple of days when we get ours done. On a side note, Stinky Coyote attempted the same adventure this evening and somehow managed to stab himself again! (jk)

Edit: I hope I didn't just jinx myself.........

Very nice!

I hate carving pumpkins but do it for my kids. Ours never turn out as nice as yours though...I'm a chemist not an artist!

Every year I also try roasting the seeds...that never seems to work for me either

Roasting seeds is basic

1 cookie tray
Line with parchment paper. NOT WAXED or TINFOIL
oven set 325f
seeds, rinsed off
lightly salted

Lay a single layer over the parchment paper
Let roast until just starting to turn colour - (roughly 20-30 minutes)

I made a batch of seeds up the other night that turned out perfect. Put your seeds in a plastic siplock bag( after washing and rinsing), pour in a liberal amount of franks red hot, add some cajun spice, some garlic powder. let sit for an hour or so. Bake in the oven at 175-200 for about 2-3 hours stirring and mixing lots.
Perfection!!!!!!

I always "fouled" mine up, so I tried your recipe.
I didn't have any parchment paper, so I sprayed with PAM.
They came out perfect at 20 minutes.

Thanks for the tip!

Haha... Thanks!! I'm hardly an artist but I cheated this year and downloaded some free patterns online. Turned out pretty good. There's a bunch available so we picked a few that were simple.

Here are our's.

I had 3 kids doing pumpkins. See if you can figure which one actually did his own, and which 2 were done by me but still claimed as their own by the kids.
