Default B-Wabbit & Z-Z ‘s - Trout Adventure

Went out to find some fall colors ….. rewarded with a Bty day & lots of action, they all went back including a monster Brookie that just couldn’t find the net. Put the float tubes in, got to see more of the lake, found a few new spots to try, it's sure was relaxing to spend the day enjoying nature.

Took a few pic’s, Bwackwabbit may add a few more.

Looking forward to getting out on safe ice when Sylvan & Gull opens on December 11th .... see.

Mmm, pre peppered brook trout lol.

Must be cold out in a float tube these days. I have been enjoying the warm weather the last couple weeks but getting ready to call it quits now. 9 months open water fishing this year, can't complain.

It is called black spot and it is a parasite. Supposedly fine to eat but speaking from experience if you bite one it will be gritty like sand and probably turn you off your meal considering you will know you just chomped on a parasite...

They are usually just on the outside of meat/skin layer so you can spend extra time to remove them but I prefer to just go to a lake that doesn't have them. In lakes that have them it seems that most of the fish usually have them and it can be found in almost all species. A few certain lakes seem to get it consistently, Spring Lake being a good example and one I won't keep fish from anymore.

RavYak is correct ... "Black Spot" is a disease & not all that appealing, only the Brook trout had signs, nevertheless, look past the spots & the trout are sure fun to catch & when the biggest monster male Brookie you've ever seen/caught gets away ... you forget all about the spots!

In the winter, not all of them have the number of spots ... pleased you're enjoying the thread.

Cranky .... it's store bought from WPG over a decade ago, I believe it's bamboo, nice and light & highly sensitive.
