Default Naden "Canadian Laker" vs Lund "WC14"

It's time to upgrade from the Lund A14 I purchased last year and go with a bigger 14 ft. I'm going with the Naden Canadian Laker. Here's how the the Naden compares against the Lund.

The Naden has a 3" wider beam, the Naden has a 4.75" greater bow height (less spray coming over the bow), the Naden hull is .080 compared to .063 for the Lund, the Naden offers a 1235 lb capacity vs only 1000 lb for the Lund, the Naden is rated for 35 HP vs only 20 for the Lund, and the Naden is priced at $2975 vs $2999 for the Lund.

Take a look at the Lund SSV-14, great boat. Flat floor, battery/fuel tank storage and rated for 35 hp but might be out of your budget.

The boat I fished out of the most last year was a 16ft laker. No complaints, held up well.

I plan on doing a fair bit of fishing out of a Naden 14' Canadian Laker this year too.

Default Naden Laker

I have had a 14' Naden Laker for 3 years now and I am very happy with it. It is super sturdy and handles rough water very well. I went through the same calculations you did and decided to buy the tougher boat.

You can't go wrong either way.

if you haven't bought the naden yet get the lund or better yet alumarine. They are both sturdier boats on the water. I have guided in all three on big water.
