Default why perch

What reason does anyone have to in introduce perch to a trout lake. I can't see the benefit from this but destroy everything some people work so hard to
maintain.

If a lake is stock for trout why introduce perch. No lake in general will affect all lakes. biomass consumption. why do this?

If they are stocking the trout the lakes already been destroyed.

Im not sure what difference it makes if the trout are stocked every year.

I think he means why do people illegally stock perch in our trout lakes. The answer is quite simple...some people would rather have a great perch fishery for 3 or 4 years and have it eventually stunt than have small muddy rainbows. Dont know why people care so much about these garbage fish (if its for sport theres way better, more scenic places to go for the sport of trout fishing), if its for the eating well perch hands down own good tasting trout IMO in that, nevermind Mud Trout..perch dont get that muddy taste. If its for the kids having a fun time well perch is better in that category too. With that said its highly illegal bucket stalking any lakes.

If you're concerned about perch in trout-stocked lakes, you should read the background information and take the survey on the problem at the My Wild Alberta Web Site. The survey closes March 22.

I also wrote about it in the current (March) Alberta Outdoorsmen. After a few years the perch often end-up stunting the fish in both their population and the trout. Because rehabilitation is expensive and so is trout stocking, the government could end-up abandoning these lakes.

With regard to muddy tasting trout, I find they taste fine during the winter. In the summer, not so good.
