I am when on safari. 12 sections of the most infested pastures I've ever seen, and I originated in Sask.. As in 3500 taken out of 2 of the sections 3 years ago. Didn't put a dent in them.

Typical if I'm solo? 6 - 700 per day. I take 6 rifles with me.

And it's called ribbing...Rider boy.

Keep the barrels cool. 6 is nothing. Couple of 22's. Couple of 17 hmr's. 22 mag. And you can't go on a good gopher safari with out a 17 Hornet. A 204. 22-250. 7mm. 12 gauge.

I would agree with the .204 the Hornet in .22 or .17..... as well as the rimfires.

Default Official 2020 gopher count

Saw the first ones of the year yesterday by Tofield. There was one pasture that was loaded with them! Would have been a great shoot with them sitting up on the snow like that. 204 time.

Still some really small guys out there. My best was 141 yards and then my kid bested me with 166 yards with my Savage MKII FVSR. Looks like I’ve got some work to do in practicing...

Brought out my entire arsenal of guns as I got the call to eliminate some gophers at the family farm. Sadly there were hardly any out & the ones we did see were beyond skittish. My son did get 3 with the .22 WMR though!

Took the misses out for a little drive yesterday to kill a bit of cabin fever, saw my first snow dogs of the year, they are right on time around here, usually see them before the end of March.
Much colder weather and some snow forecast for here over the next 7 days so am sure it will drive them back down for a bit.
But no doubt about it snow dog season has opened
