Default So what are you doing...

So what are you doing today with these frigid temperatures most of us are experiencing? Was -26 at noon today, and windchill was -38! Pretty nasty past couple of days, and until around next Thursday.

So my lovely wife spent most of the day baking for Xmas.

I spent the afternoon in my wood heated shop working on a skinner knife for a customer...Life is good!...

Picked the day to try and replace some firebricks in my parents woodstove. They had an old stove in the scrap pile we had to get the bricks out of. In the end it all worked out but my fingers were cold for a while! Was using the blow torch to heat my hands up at one point!

Final touches to a Watercolor. Need to find some barn wood in the spring to frame it

Slept in this morning and didn't make it to Church.

Customer who purchased one of these knives wanted three more just like it. I'm in the process of finish grinding these three for her.

Decorated the Christmas tree.

Decorated the house.

Spent a typical -25 day today, went out to K-country to cut a Christmas tree, went to the Christmas Craft fair on the way home, shoving sticks in the stove for the afternoon while taste testing the Christmas baking to make sure its OK for human consumption and trying my best to avoid the dreaded command disguised as a question " when you get a minute would you mind"... just another day
This is Alberta, its cold, we live here, we work here and we play here. Wouldn't trade it for any beach anywhere.

Booked a day off.
Spent it getting the heat on for people instead.
So it goes on cold days.

Layed in bed most the day.
Watched some older movies with Arnold Shwartzenegger, Chuck Norris, Sylvester Stallone, and Ron Jeremy.
Lazy Sunday.

Spent some time on the reloading bench. Did my yearly clean up then decided to size and clean some brass. Now that I found finally found some powder again, it's time to put it all together.

Made out of garage door sections. Good choice and a good way to recycle and reuse old building materials. I'm proud of you.
Good job on building that ice fishing hut. Enjoy.

Thanks I thought so. I even used the panels for the floor. Just have to decide the hole configuration. I hate weaving though a gauntlet of holes.lol

I’m hurry-up & waiting for a plumbing inspector to arrive within their 8-12 window at a site I have no work left at. After that it’s off to get various folks their heat going & most likely the same thing for the next few days…

Yesterday was too cold to lay on my back in the driveway bolting up the sled deck. Too cold to open up the garage and swap out the sleds and put the quad where they sat in the off season, so off to work and did paperwork but watched the overtime and penalties of the world cup before heading to the desk. Then snow duty at mine and the parents place. Lazy evening of YouTube & Netflix.

Just finished up building a hardwood stand for a gift. Then started cutting and going to weld in some panels on an old square body shorty Chevy.

You are a brave man 58!

Well another deep freeze day here.

Speaking of which, it is 20 degrees colder outside than my freezer temp this morning (-38).

Guess it will be another shop day.

Glad things are warming up for Christmas...
