Default Rage hypodermics

Was wondering people's opnions my fiance shoots only 44 pounds and was wondering for bears so be 15 to 20 yard shot. If you would use a rage hypodermic or not want her to use rage cause of the giant cut and from guiding seen what they can do. I know will open not worried about that but just don't know how much penetration it will get.

I shoot Rage and absolutely love them!!

HOWEVER

They do need some Kenetic energy to work properly and I'm not sure that 44# would get you there.

I would suggest a good cut on contact head, like the montec!

I would play it safe.... With low poundage, use a COC (cut on contact) broadhead.

Make her adventure memorable by giving her the best possible chance of recovering an animal she shoots at.

Unless she works hard to boost the draw weight over 50#, keep her hunt happy. If she gets to over 50#, then possibly look into mechanicals....

However, please note my signature below....

Some manufacturers strongly recommend 60-65 KE to use their mechanicals. With a low poundage short draw bow I would most certainly adhere to this.

There is the new hypodermic which is only 1.5" when inside the animal. The rage is very accurate lungs are not to hard to make holes in. First thing i would recommend is being accurate and keeping shot close.

Anyways, what is her draw length as every 1" equals alot of feet per second. She could be a 28 "draw and getting more energy than someone pulling 55lbs with a 24 " draw.

44lbs (same as my recurve). I wouldn't use mechanicals but I've never read the fine print on the packages about minimum KE. I'd go with a fixed blade.

Figure out your KE see what it is. If its no good try out a fixed PX2 a great canadain company with awesome broad-heads. Should not have any tuning issues out to 20 given her bow is not really out of wack.

I would use a Fixed blade. Had a rage 2 blade not open on a doe this past season shooting 70#. Hard to trust mechanicals after that.

I have 6 G5 Montec CS in 100gr you can have. I recently switched to a different broadhead and wont be needing these. There just sitting in ty bow toolbox and I like the idea of helping out others if they want to try hunting. 4 of them have never been shot and I've sharpened them to razor sharp. The other 2 were my practice ones but are in great shape, just a little dull. I'm in St Albert if you'd like to pick them up. Or I can mail hem to you. Let me know.
