Default recurve vs lonbow

When comparing a recurve bow to a longbow, which one will give the shooter more KE and momentum?

One is as good as the other.

Quality of build is what youre looking at.

Its just personal preference which design you choose and of course finances.

Start googleing

Those are two criteria that I have never considered when choosing either a long bow or recurve, the only thing that concerns me when looking at either is the draw weight itself and the "shootability" - whether or not the bow actually shoots well wit my style of draw .
Depending on the brand of bow either can be faster than the other at a particular draw weight.

The one that shoots the heaviest arrow the fastest will have the most KE but like Cat I am more concerned about how the bow shoots for me. I own and shoot both types of trad bows and they both work for me.

A bit more to think about.
For many years the recurve was considered faster, more powerfull. That has changed, and today we find many Longbows that are faster than the same weight Recurves, and many Recurves that are faster than the same weight longbows.
Dollar for dollar value todays bows are pretty equal in general .
Don't expect a $300 recurve to out shoot a $1000 longbow , and vice versa.
Generaly on a dollar for dollar value most trad bows shoot about the same speeds wether RC or LB.
It's like asking if a 2 door car or a 4 door car is faster.
