Default West Of Caroline - Ice Off

Went on a bit of an adventure today. For those still wondering if there is any Ice or Snow left out there. There is this.

Dickson Dam (North Valley)
May 12th, 2018

Glennifer Lake (South Valley)
May 12th, 2018

Dickson Trout Pond
May 12th, 2018

Beaver Lake (Parking full behind me as well)
May 12th, 2018

Burntstick Lake (Remember, Doesn't open until May 15th, 2018)
May 12th, 2018

Fiesta Lake
May 12th, 2018

Birch Lake (Parking was worse than Beaver Lake. At least 15-20 boats on the lake)
May 12th, 2018

Phyllis Lake (Water was surprisingly clear)
May 12th, 2018

Strubel Lake (Unfortunately I noticed many dead fish around the dock and along the shoreline. Possibly a partial kill...?)
May 12th, 2018

Mitchell Lake
May 12th, 2018

Ironside Pond (Couldn't get near the lake, due to some drunks)
May 12th, 2018

Other Notes:
Clearwater River - Not overly high. Fairly clear.
Red Deer River - Quite high, very dark.
Raven/Prairie/Dogpound - The usual. Regular flow, slightly silty.
Tay River - Slow and very dark.

Got lost going to Swan Lake. Never been before. took a few wrong turns. Looked just as open as everything else once I got there.

Hope everyone is satisfied with these. Put a lot of Kilometers down.
Remember to conserve our waters! Fish On!

Thanks for the update...Struble no one fishing it as usual..I believe that it would make a prime location for a Quality fishery. It sure would help elviate some pressure on Beaver...IMO

I drive by several times a year and there is seldom anyone fishing. It is a shame as it is the best lake in the area. Perhaps a bunch of Tiger Trout would clean up the perch and minnows that the lake is full of.

Glad you folks enjoy the pictures.

Ironside was interesting. When I got there, I saw a Ram 1500, nothing else. Unfortunately it was parked halfway down the Pathway! Looks like they used it as their own personal boat ramp. So after a profanity riddled speech, and not being able to understand a single word they were yelling, I decided to leave.
I know if I had actually taken my boat, I definitely would have had some fun! Lol.

Anyone have any idea on the quality of Fish in Fiesta and Beaver . I haven’t fished them since they winter killed a few years back. Now that Bullshead is toast I will need to get my fix somewhere close to home .

Are you sure it's even winter killed? I don't trust 90 percent of the people that say that. Supposedly Beaver winterkilled as well as some other lakes and it turned out to be bull****. Not saying it didn't winter kill but I wouldn't bank on it either. People like saying stuff like that on here so it gets less pressure.
