Default Saskatoon police Supt. says bear spray should be banned in the city

The stupidity never stops
How dumb are these people? criminals can get cocaine from Columbia but can't import bear spray into a city.

Saskatoon police say bear spray has become a common part of the criminal tool kit in the city, along with other weapons like guns, knives and machetes.

That's why a high ranking member of the police force is calling for an outright ban on bear spray in the city in an effort to get it off the streets and out of the hands of criminals.

"It's common enough that we're running into bear spray weekly," said Supt. Randy Huisman.

"I would like to see a complete ban for sale in Saskatoon."

Husman should be fired for being too stupid to do his job. Anyone so incompetent should not be in police work. Wonder why he didn't call for a ban a-on Machetes and Knives at the same time. IDIOT!

High ranking educated & well compensated (one might add)-and this is the best he can come up with?

Bear spray is regulated, a purchaser is required to register where proof of identity w government issued identification is mandatory-Chief Huisman do your job (better than this)!

I'm sorry, where did you find a bearspray registry?

A woman I know was attacked within the last week in my neighborhood, the attackers used pepper spray and were wrestling her to the ground (I didn’t ask if it was a small dog deterrent spray or a large can of bear spray, if she even saw it at all before its effects took place). She’s a postal carrier and she was attacked by two natives in broad daylight while simply going about her job on a residential street in Killarney. I read the news article noting the attack, noted the location nearby and that the postal carrier was female so I texted her to verify that it was her and to check on how she was doing.

It’s curious that they tried this with her of all women because she’s a formidable opponent. Around 18 years ago I was studying Ninjutsu and she was one of the black belts training at the same dojo, she gave me the largest bruise I’d ever received during one sparring session, most of one of my pecs was rendered dark purple. Her cardio is insane to this day as she cycles absolutely everywhere with a bike trailer. This attack was only about 8 blocks from my house so we’re keeping an eye out for anyone fitting the description. A broad daylight, two on one armed attack against a smaller woman, these perps obviously need to be caught, but we all know that the system won’t do what is necessary due to them being granted special status.

I don’t know why the article I’m linking incorrectly notes that the suspects were arrested, because they are still at large so far as I know. Perhaps they arrested the wrong pair if they weren’t also covered in pepper spray from wresting with their victim/my friend. It also doesn’t touch on their descriptions at all which is rather remiss. I texted my detective buddy about it as he also works my district, these perps were still at large as of the last time I communicated with him (not his case but he knew of it).

Good friend of mine moved into a condo unit by Killarney pool (30th & 19th)in late fall, couple weeks ago (ish) they had the rail that holds the realtor boxes broke off outside in the night & next day thieves keyed into building then into mail boxes plundering what ever they could. All the locks had to be changed.

Buddy seemed surprised & ticked about my comments on the area being full of sketchy dudes and dudette's initially-sure is a tough way to find out.

Until the justice system does right by law abiding Canadians and keeps our sociopaths incarcerated, we’ll only get more of this. We know that won’t happen with the current federal administration who are striving to make things worse by extending yet more extra-special it’s not your fault that you committed those crimes treatment to indigenous offenders through the likes of bill C-75. That bill will just make things worse yet. The PM doesn’t even hold himself accountable for judicial interference or ethics violations, so how can we possibly expect him to hold other criminals to account?

Banning spray in the city limits...great idea! Of course thugs are only within Saskatoon, never from the outskirts and outlying areas, and don’t own transportation, right??

Bizarre
