Default Auger extension?

Do we need a extension to drill the hole yet?

It is getting very close for lakes as far north as Pigeon. But, as long as you drill straight, should be good until the end of this year. Close but should be okay. Further North, like way North...maybe not.

I guess if anyone was wondering about ice conditions on Central and North, they are pretty much awesome until the end of the season now. This cold has everything really solid and that will not be undone by any upcoming weather. The bigger issue will be snow on the ice as it will start to get keep enough on some of these lakes to make travel...well...fun.

You are better off to pack an extension and not need it, than not pack an extension and need it!!! They don't take up a lot of room. I have always made a 15" extension part of my "take along" ice fishing gear. I have never regretted it, because it was required on more than one occasion when I did not think it would be.
