One of the best threads, IMO. Just love seeing all the different camps. Good stuff! How many more sleeps till the fall?

You never had a beer after hunting all day?

You need to relax and have a beer I think.

No no, I don't think you want to even uncase your gun in dinosaur PP. Just a staging area.

Now this is a good thread, thoroughly enjoyed going through it and with the coming season it's worth a little look again or a first look for those who haven't seen it yet

On a recent Yukon trip, we found an old geologist camp on the lake we flew in to. There were several plywood platforms still is decent shape so with some jury rigging we set the wall tent up on one platform and built a kitchen on an another. As we spiked out of the camp for a few days at a time, we also used a bear fence to keep our food and Jet's food safe while were away from camp. As we flew in on this hunt, weight was of utmost importance so we didn't take the frame for the tent. The lightweght design of the wall tent was ideal for this trip and the makeshift kitchen kept the wall tent free of food smell and kept us out of the wind and rain. It was a pretty comfy camp.

Default Cots

I see lots of people's tents have cots or air matresses in them... wondering how people like these folding cots if you're in the bush? I've only ever slept on foamies or solid ground but am thinking about switching over.

Any idea where I could find a wide cot? Dad's got a super wide sleeping bag (can't remember the exact width) that would have a LOT of overhang on all the cots I've seen so far. Would love to find him a cot that is big enough to almost fit his bag!

Default Horse backpacking.

Thought I'd bump this thread with some photos from our recent elk trip. No elk, yet... we'll be going back in a few weeks.
