Default Should We Really be Offended? I'm Not.

Just read an article by Paula Simons, about how Albertans should be outraged and offended by Kevin O'Leary's comments on our province and premiere. Really? I'm not an O'Leary fan by any means, but I think he nails it right on the head with his comments regarding Madame Notley.

http://news.nationalpost.com/news/ca...-offend-us-all

Why exactly is Paula outraged? Does she think that because the NDP has a majority and a theoretical "mandate" that ergo, she must be tremendously popular with Albertans? Does Paula have any idea where the NDP is polling, and Notley personally, in Alberta? Or is Paula just personally outraged because a man dared to say something so obviously sexist? I just can't be outraged that an 'outsider' said something negative about our premiere or province....as that seems to be the purview of the Quebecois. Paula is obviously a fan of Rachel, maybe we can get her to take her off our hands?

Ha, good comeback. I do get a sharp pain right behind the eyeballs reading pretty much anything she has ever written.

Paula Simon's articles are usually pretty cringe-worthy, and this one is no different but I think she makes a fair point in regards to Federal overreaching. Ottawa doesn't get to call the shots in areas of our jurisdiction, whether its a conservative in the Prime Minister's chair or not.

O'Leary should stick to selling blended wines on tv

Ottawa certainly doesn't have authority or get to call the shots in Provincial jurisdiction.... but O'Leary isn't Ottawa and hopefully won't ever been in a position of authority there. He is strictly a professional self promoting bombast. So while that point may be valid, overall her article is a strident screeching at best.

I think O'leary is just showing he really is ignorant of the way things are here in Alberta. He has underestimated Notley, she's much worse than he thinks.

Paula on the other hand seems nice.

I grew up with Paula. I read every word she writes because she's a good writer, but she is a perpetually offended feminist. If you take away the people who are involved in the article, the gist of it is good. Ottawa has screwed with our economy enough over the decades, we don't need anymore precedents set, as they can go the other way too. NEP. Nuff said.

Take the feminist out of the article - there wouldn't be an article.

Put a woman in O'Leary's place.

Simon's best rants were about how bad Rogers place would be for Edmonton.

Everythings cool if it's a new art gallery of course because well...all Edmontonians frequent the art gallery.

Sorry Paula.....can't hear you over the noise from those 9 sold out Garth Brooks concerts.

I'm not offended at all. But O'Leary isn't running for a provincial seat. He should keep his attacks focused on Trudeau. If he wins he is going to have to work with whomever is running this province at the time.

Paula Simons made me angry when I was a twelve year old boy. Then I grew up and realized there were modern day socialists. To understand the far left one must either receive a pay cheque from them,or forego common sense.

Simons gave that little dumpster fire what he craves. He got media attention when he stamped his tiny feet in powerless, hysteric, tantrum.

Reading her posts I found it fascinating that she blames the "U.S. rampant gun culture" for the stabbings.

I agree with you about Notley. Next election she's out of here along with the rest of her team..
