unfortunately I work Wednesday then a dentist appontment Thursday afternoon, but I will be hitting the river after work Wednesday and Thursday morning, then 3 full days at it. Hoping the snow in the highlands starts to melt and send us some water! cant wait to get on the river in the boat for the first time this season!

Plan was to be out 1st thing in the morning but being the great loving husband and father that I'am, i will be home looking after my wife (recent surgery) instead of heading out to teach a certain Hillbilly how to actually catch fish!!!! Good luck to everyone heading out!!!!!!

The fishing was good but the catching was slow. I only caught 2 sturgeon but did good on the walleye, no big ones, 6 or so were over 20".A few goldeye 1 pike,1 sauger and lots of suckers. Our group caught 15 sturgeon on opening day while the water was low.Thursday the water started rising and by Sat. it was up 2ft.I find when the water is fluctuating up or down the fishing slows down. We only caught 5 more sturgeon the last 3 days. Couple were good ones 1 was 57" length by a 23" girth, close to 50 lbs.1 was 55"x22" and 3 were 54".

Nice see you down there, Jacen. How did you make out? I believe we saw you land a decent sturgeon while we were anchored across the river, correct?

Considering that the fishing was slow by the standards of the veteran Forks anglers, I sure had a lot of fun. I caught suckers, goldeye, mooneye, walleye, sauger, burbot & 7 sturgeon, including a new personal best 55"er. Had a blast hanging out with Dago, Pam & the rest of the usual suspects. My buddy, Ogre, showed up on Friday, as did Mr. Christie, the Rolling Hillbilly. I'll post a full report after I've gone through my pics...
Here's a couple shots-

Dago's 54"er...

My 55" x 22" river monster...

We made out decent for shore fishing. It was indeed a sturgeon I pulled in when you were across the river. Looks like yours were monsters compared to mine. We caught a couple other medium sturgeon on the trip and way too many suckers and goldeye. The walleyes were really biting in the afternoon. It looks like you had a great time. Did the wind hit you guys bad like it did to us?

The wind was really bad Thursday night. Really kicked up during the night.
Was too dang noisy to sleep in my tent, had to retreat to the car to get a few hours...
