I think this high pressure system is to blame because I have had exc luck to these lakes on prior visits.Pinehurst was very slow and 2 perch lakes within an hr I got 6 bites and zero on the ice.

When it comes to perch I spend 15 min max per spot,I have had luck on these lakes prior and have pins saved on my phone.I have 3 go to hooks and alternate baits,if nothing move on.
PS, Pinehurst has a large ice ridge across it and there is ice piled up in big chunks along the campground.I didn't try to cross the heave to the other side because the bite was veryyyyyy slow.
Why waste all your gas and time? Your buddy is getting 2 pound perch in 10" of water. Go there?
I live 4 hrs from him and am expecting a call to hit the road ....for another ???? days.I will be going I hope and I will be posting my own pics of them,it will be a 2-3 day trip but I don't have a set work schedule and he does,hope it pans out.

High pressure is better fishing. Where in AB was there a high pressure presence on the 9th of Feb? It was raining in SW AB!!!!!!!!!!
