Default Depth finder mounting.

Looking for opinions on how to mount the new depth finder in the boat. I am just going to use the factory bracket but would like something that swivels as well. I have looked at the Ram Mounts but at $50+ there has got to be something cheaper out there.

Was thinking of a lazy susan or a swiveling boat seat type of bracket mounted to a piece of wood that the actual depth finder mount can then be attached to. Thoughts or pics of your own set ups would be appreciated!!!

Was thinking of something like this.

I favor Ram mounting systems, but you might want to try a Johnny Ray mount.

I would offer that if you spent good money on electronics, another $50 or maybe even more, would be a good idea to help protect your sonar and head unit.

I use ram mounts, the largest ones with the biggest balls, and they have protected my stuff quite nicely. They also can be articulated and moved into different positions to allow a good viewing angle in a variety of conditions.

They are a good investment.

$35 bucks

Another option would be scotty mounts. 20-30 dollars.

Again I prefer Ram mounts and eventually you will go that route too.

X2 I can't remember how much I paid for my ram mount but I think it's a 2.25" ball for a large fish finder.

I can't recommend anything in the price range you are suggesting. My electronics go on Cisco or Balzout mounts.

Nope, me neither, but if anyone's looking for a great mount, take a look at these. They cost a few bucks more, but compared to the price of the electronics they're holding, they're cheap, and worth every penny in my opinion.

I've moved on from the RAM mounts to the Stabil, and I'd never go back. I do like the nearly infinite adjustability of the RAMs, but the Stabil mounts are close in adjustability, and they are rock solid. Once you set them, they don't creep or move, they're always where you want them and there's no need to be constantly adjusting and tightening them. Super easy and quick to install/remove the sonar unit too.

I have Ram mounts now and will go with CISCO https://www.ciscofishingsystemsltd.c...cs-mount-27061 In the future.

The Rams ALWAYS slip. Right from new. I must say my Johnny Ray that I have on a small HDS 5 is quite good but does turn some times on big waves.

If you go with one of those turn tables you had better find a way to lock them down so they don't turn in heavy water.
