Default big pike

not really much to report but fishing at three different lakes has produced nice hens in 2 to 3 feet of water with miniscule bumping of bait on sandy bottom. and bait should be small not big bait, small as in one inch of smelt or herring strip/chunk pulled not cut, in other words, as raggedy as possible.

gorgeous day today out there, looks like a good weekend too.

Laying your bait on the bottom is good as pike are scavengers also. Either that or
within 2-3 feet of bottom.

I don't pack a camera or even my phone while fishing. Pics get taken if someone else wants to. it's usually up from the hole, unhooked and back down the hole. The ones that I keep for the pan are much smaller.

That's a helpfull report cb.
You must be retired to have the opportunity to fish three lakes.

Weird scheduling and a job that I can do at night affords this every now and then. I get the same schedule next week and plan on hitting three trout lakes, four depending what route I choose.

we need a daily tip thread or an old timers tips of fishing thread. lotsa newbs I'm meeting on the ice this year, love sharing tips while out on the ice.
