How's the bite been at joussard?

Haha this thread is pretty quite, will be heading out in the morning for a few nights. Staying at my Pal shack so if the bites on or not I will be there having a time.

Hello all, I'm heading up that way this week too. I haven't fished up north in twenty years. I used to go to Fawcett all the time when I lived in Edmonton. I see that the lake has been hammered where they had to put in special regs, too bad. I have not fished slave lake yet so I am excited to try new waters. I want to try some of the new lures and systems out there to see what I catch but I'm still thinking jig and minnows as they have worked for me for 50 years.

The bite was very slow where we are before dark, but in that last few hours the action has picked up. All keeper walleyes and burbs.

The fishing has been a little slower during the days but every day I have been connecting with a nice jumbo. I'm just fishing for them now . Got 3 so far all over 30cm .

thanks for the info. Leaving in AM to stay in southshore shacks for a couple nights. gives us a little confidence, it was pretty slow last year

We are also heading up to Joussard in the morning. Finally getting a chance to drag our shack out!! Can't wait to get there and get to fishing for a few days or so!!

Well, we just got everything finally all setup. Of course, one of the first priorities (after holes) was the tv!!

What is the access to the lake like at Joussard? I have a trip planned up there for late Feb. renting a shack, saw other posts about how bad the ice is on Slave Lake. This will be my first time up there

The access is good. Came out today. There is a small ice heave not far from where you hit the ice. Seemed solid when we crossed it. A tad bumpy. But good.
