Thumbs up Today, rainbows are my fave trout...

...when you're catching 18" chunks on a 2wt flyrod, they gotta be your favorite! At least until tomorrow, when I may be catching browns...or cutts...or brookies...
Here's a couple that came out to play today:

Even stuck some on the dry...

Had some reel-screaming runs, & some aerial displays; it was spectacular!!!
Yep, rainbows are my fave trout...today...

Athabasca Rainbows!
Small, very dark rainbow population unique to some upper Athabasca tributaries in Jasper National Park. It's the only rainbow native to Alberta - someohow flipping over the continental divide from the Pacific watershed hundreds of thousands of years ago.
Seriously!

Never fished for Atha-bows, but I've read a few articles about 'em. Kinda neat how they retain the parr markings into adulthood; beautiful trout!

Thumbs up Browns; yep, definitely browns...

...for now!
Caught this 21" beauty on my 2wt on Saturday; so, browns are my fave- at least 'til my next fishing trip!

Later,
Steve
