How many beer on a fishing excursion?

Usually about a 12 pack does the trick on the boat. After each empty, I tie about 10 feet of line to the can opening thingy, with 3 or 4 treble hooks at the bottom 4' feet of the line with loop knots. Then live smelt on each hook. Chuck it over for some extra fishing luck, ya know. The smelt will pull the can around. The air in the can keeps it floating on top like a bobber. Kinda cool seeing 12 of the cans zooming around as they are pulled around by the live smelt. When you have a big one on, you'll see the can go under, but it always come back up in a few moments. Oh and don't forget a Playboy magazine and lots of flotation cushions at the front of the boat to lounge the time away soaking up some sun until a can goes under.
Tip: Choose a beer with a red can. Helps to see it better.

Well if you take a keg instead, it can double as a pfd when your done, that way you don't have to bring a life jacket. Generally they're buoyant enough for two people so you don't' have to bring a vest for a passenger either. Don't' forget the waterproof duct tape though, if the water gets rough, cold, or wet it is sometimes advantageous to fasten it in an appropriate manner before you enter. Be prepared to allow for more time if fastening the keg to the back of yourself and a passenger, gorilla tape might be the better option for this scenario. If you suspect wind while on the water consider hurricane tape. Please respect buoyancy guidelines.

Hmmmmm... my friend and neighbor has a kegerator, maybe we should be saving all those empty kegs for when the ice is gone. You'll know where to find me in the spring; on my brand new DIY pontoon boat.

my boat is too small for that many beers, i take a 40 of rr and save a lot of space. depending on the lake i use lake water for mix, that way not only do i get to puke my guts out i get to crap myself too!
