Default Capilano Apricot Trees??

I bought a few 3 year growth Apricot trees from a fellow who states that there are 3 apricot trees off of the Capilano Freeway in Edmonton that have been growing there for a very long time.

He said he takes the fruit in the fall, gets the pits to germinate, and has great success with this old hardy variety of Apricot. Exactly what the variety is, is unknown.

The seller is Swiss, and after a long discussion about other fruit tress, is clearly a very knowledgeable horticulturalist. Too much knowledge to be a scam.

But here is the question, has anyone else heard about these Apricot trees?

If you know the location could you PM me? I would like to see them in bloom!

I'm hoping that these root and produce, as it would be a neat addition to my other fruit trees.

Looks like there are 4 or 5 apricot trees in Edmonton.

This map shows all the trees of Edmonton. You can enter apricot in the search bar and it brings up a few.
