I like Tikka for the price, good trigger, and generally good accuracy.

My first 22-250 was a 700 BDL. Thing was a tack driver. I sold it to get a detachable mag and bought a Tikka. No regrets, the Tikka shoots every bit as good as my previous rifle. 22-250 is the best coyote cartridge imo.

Tikka would be a good choice. If its in the budget spend a couple of hundred more and get a stainless. Prettier and lots easier to sell down the road if you decide to swap out for something else.

I will be the odd man out. Vanguard and Howa are a great option for a carry weight 22-250, at quite a lot less money than the Tikka has become. Very accurate guns that are well built.

There’s a 700 for sale on here from Dweb, I think that’s his handle. Another option, it’s priced fair for what it comes with.

If you stick to 55 grain bullets, you don't need to worry about rate of twist.

Agreed. If you want to shoot yotes at long distance and use heavy bullets like 69s and 75s to buck wind get a 1 in 9 twist rather than the normal 1 in 12 most 22 250s come with

North Pro Sports sale
North Pro Sports seems to have some good prices on some of the Tikka's noted in their " Farters Day Frenzy Sale". Might be what qualifies for pet protection duty.

Choices
Nothing wrong with a Savage Axis if you need an accuarate rifles for a good price point. I have loaded for a few friend who bought these less expensive rifles, and they shoot amazingly well

My Tikka won’t stabilize the 55’s that I’ve tried. Only good to 100 yds and then the groups seriously open up. 52’s work well. Just sayin’

I purchased a #1 Ruger, heavy barrel in 22-250 from a fellow AO member years back, best and most accurate rifle I've ever owned. Due to financial hardship I had to sell it. Another AO member purchased it. Sure miss that one.
