Default Pike on Fly and Calling Lake

On Wednesday night I hit WSS, set up my new fly rod for pike and headed north to my cabin for some more fishing. Thursday was super windy but I spent the day out on the water determined to catch my first pike on the fly rod. The wind made it difficult and my friends were catching waaayyy more fish then me on crankbaits and spinners but I kept atter and eventually I caught one!! Its in the first picture :P lol. Ended up slipping through my fingers it was so big (jk) but there was a witness. Then I got a second pike on the rod (second pic) so theres the proof .

Then today we headed to Calling Lake for opening day. Tons and tons of people out. Turned out to be an interesting day. We took advantage of the wind and sat in the waves drifting lures across the bottom. Had a few double headers. Caught one fish with two lures and fought it together lol. And Buddy was texting on his cell and nearly had his rod taken over the edge of the boat by a walleye, literally caught it by the last bit of cork on the rod.

Definately was an awesome two days. Heres some pics

Calling is in big trouble, the quality of fish compared to even 5 years ago is embarrassing.

True, however i was refereeing to the markings on the scrawny eyes and that nice gator, (not that you'd be able to tell by reading my post) real nice colors for a seemingly hungry fish, and if you think thats bad just be thankful that no one posts pics of the anorexic PCR eyes, their worthy of pity for the condition that their in.
