Default wader maintenance??

hey everyone, i was just curious to what maintenance fishing waders need besides you typical cleaning? i only ask this is because along time ago like 10 plus years i went fishing with a buddy and took my car and after the day was over he forgot his one piece chest high fishing waders in my vehicle and called him and told him. so i ended up tossing it into the garden shed thinking it would be ok and out of the elements. we had to clean out the shed last nite and i took them out and was very surprised it was all cracked and was like it dried out, big chunks were falling off it cause it was so brittle. was it just the life span of the material or does it need some sort of moisture type coating for storage? now i owe my buddy a very expensive pair of waders.

Wouldn't happen with a good quality breathable wader.

You owe him after 10+ years? Give him the $200, then charge $1/day storage fee. With your profit go by your own pair of waders and a new car!

I had my neoprene waders jammed in the trunk of my car. I guess they didn't like that as a seam started to come apart and now they have a slow leak right at the groin region...

Speaking of waders though, I can't stand wearing mine. They are heavy and I sweat like a pig in them if the sun is out. Is there a certain brand/material that is preferred by most people on here?

Edit: Oh and is there any trick to getting neoprene waders dry? I can't seem to get the boots to dry out even though it has been a couple weeks now...

The problem is the neoprene inside the rubber boots. I can't flip them inside out and they just won't dry...

I use a boat dryer that I got from Canadian Tire. My wader booties are dry after a few hours.
