It's not the face off wins that count. It's the pucks in the twine that wins the game.

Face off win/loss is over rated!

...says the guy that can't give credit where credit is due. The Flames lack of success over the last number of years in Anaheim was definitely their undoing n the playoffs..no matter how they were coached they knew that they had a hard time winning there, and every single player had that in the back of their mind. For their sake the first time they face the Ducks there next year, I hope the Flames blow them out 5-0

Read the title of the thread. That's mind boggling. If you don't like it, go make a post on "Dear flames fans".

Leads me to believe you've never played before then. Face off's lead to puck possession. That's a pretty important factor of the game.

I'm all for giving credit where its due. There is a big difference between "credit" and "mind boggling". Talking about credit, shall I list the other teams that had two consecutive wins in Anaheim this year? The Oilers are clearly the better team, don't understand what's "mind boggling" about them winning two straight....

True words hal. But the new Flames kids that played the Pond had never been there before. Obviously, there was a haunting distraction or fear of some kind. Easy for us arm chair quarterbacks to deduce. I think that the Oilers went into the pond without such fears and past history. Dang, taking 2 games from them on the pond back to back says a lot. I hope that they carry that feeling of accomplishment back into Edmonton. As a coach, I'd really emphasize on such an awesome result and drive upon the backing or those awesome Oilers fans. If the Oilers can take a single game in Edmonton, the ducks are fried in oil.

Never said faceoffs weren't important. They just don't count at the end of the game. Just ask Randy Carlyle.

Yes the Oilers are clearly better than the Flames thanks for coming around to our way of seeing things.

I was referring to you saying they were overrated. They aren't. The Oilers did well to not come home with the split.

After numerous first round draft picks they should be better, Calgary has never had one. Oilers are lucky to have won last night. Other than goaltending they were outplayed 2/3 of the game.

Yup sure does. But then I remember the day when what mattered was the final score!

Another stat that does not get enough airtime is what teams have the hottest wives! I think that's much more important than face off's!

Oh and I did play and back then it was about the final score and the hot ladies!

I for one hope the flames do well in the draft, get a new arena and do better next year and the years after. Need some stronger teams in Canada!

Go Senators! Nice catch today! 4 goals in a game for 1 guy including the winner! I think the rangers played better but just like last nights Oilers Game Sen's got the BIG W.

Have my Budweiser Red Light set to Oilers and Senator's now. May it ring Bright and Loud!

Imagine a Canada vs Canada final. I hope it happens and that puke Bettman chokes on a Corn Dog!

Interesting. I can't really see anyone besting Pittsburg, they just schooled the Presidents winner after all, and should have a relatively easy time, relative to Edmonton, in the next round (assuming they make it of course).

Lot a haters on the Oilers thread lol. Dont matter if they take the Ducks or not, they have done what no one expected this season. So if they end up in the next round or even the cup final or lose 4 straight to the ducks, they can be pretty darn proud of the season and growth they had.

Go Oil Go
