Default Brookie bait and/or lures?

I was just wondering about what bait and or lures to use for brookies at first ice. I have only fished for them once or twice with limited success. Thanks. BEL

Have you ever tried fishing a bead head fly through the ice?

Default Brooktrout

I agree with fishman but first you have to catch a Brookie that has eggs. Try a small jig tipped with a maggot if it is allowed where you are fishing. If you have row sometimes just rubbing some on your jig will catch you a lot of fish.
