I think Metis have lost their harvesting agreement with the province. Treaty Indians can hunt when ever they like.

You and I both know that was not what he was referring to. If he was first nation he wouldn't be worried about getting a medical ok to hunt with a crossbow. If you have any respect for the game in Alberta you wouldn't be enabling a person that is involved in illegal activities to harvest animals.

We should also point out that the OP is a longtime forum member who worded his post to get the maximum reaction. some of us understand the tongue in cheek humor that may be lost on others.

I have to go shower. All this *****bow talk...nasty.

All kidding aside, best of luck John, hope your determination is rewarded.

It's perfectly legal for a white guy with a bow (John) and a Native guy with a rifle (His buddy) to share a hunting camp during archery only season as long as they both hunt on their own. Okay?

true but the OP insinuated that there was illegal activity around the rifle during archery season otherwise he should mention all the other legal activities that were going on as well.

Welcome back to hunting John Hopefully we can get out this year. I have hunted with John when he used to roam the woods with his compound and he is an ethical, honest, hard working hunter and a good guy around the fire pit at night. I am amazed at how quick people start maligning or making insinuations about someone on this site.
Excalibur or Ten Point I hear are good

Nope, don't know him, just read his post. His words suggest illegal activities, if anything, he should be on here clarifying otherwise he is just posting to stir ****. You're the moderator, suggest he do that or do it for him, I don't know him so its unlikely I am going to share a campfire with him anytime soon to get to know him.

Have to agree about clarifying his requests for information opposed to opening the door for debate. Not like he is new here or has not seen the abuse this subject gets from AO.

And the MOD, well he seems to enjoy the fact that others bring up this delicate subject and chimes in to stir the pot.

Sorry but not so, treaty status friends do not have an archery season. They can hunt all year round with any weapon so there is no archery season. His wording definitely suggests a person governed by an archery season.

If the OP wants to clarify then he should. As for someone doing illegal activity, we should all be stopping that and as a moderator, you should be helping clarify these things rather than supporting these antics with comments like "Holaaaaaay!" Now move on, I am.

What was I referring to? Please enlighten me. Also what illegal activities did I condone?

My ex was status and we enjoyed many hunts together, her with her rifle, me with my bow or 22 for grouse. Totally legal.

Hunted with status friends as well in the same scenerio. Totally legal.

You should quit jumping to conclusions and worry more about yourself.

I asked a simple question. Clarified it a few posts later but still some feel the need to comment with their ill informed comments and accuse me basically of being a poacher. Totally classless.

No, you are being classless. You said that someone was hunting with a rifle that was governed by an archery season. That is illegal and should be stopped.
