Was up there in August, didn't fish personally but did see a fair number of boats on the lake. Lots were jumping, so would assume it wasn't bad.

How is the road up there in the winter? Is camping available?

the roads are good bc does a good job and i no what your saying pretty hilly and lots off up and down lol ive never had a problem,, 4x4 isnt a bad idea but ive seen cars doing it, but what a great place to ice fish..shrimp,shrimp , shrimp.. camping ? good question i usually rent a cheap cabin in fairmont to stay in as in winter dont want to pull trailer especially on that road going in....

We went in July and the fishing was a little slow for me but I had a hard time figuring out the big fish. Didn't have a boat to go out far (only the pontoon) but those that did and were trolling did really well out deep in the main part of the lake.

Still a awesome lake to fish, I can only imagine how good it is during hard water.

Be careful in winter. Several years back, there was a truck that slid off the road and broke through the ice. 2 drowned.
