It was blue ski so i headed out to Wab.early this morning.
After one hr and 20 walleye and one big jack that tried to steal one of my walleye the weather changed . Got rained on and battled the 3-4 ft waves.
New Lunds are not made for white caps .

Could be nice and calm, barely no wind at all but as soon as I hook up to the boat I'll be fighting a head wind every time. On the way there and on the way home. Soon as I get home the wind calms down. Go figure. It's fairly calm right now and gonna hook up and go to Crawling Valley in about 15 min.
Time to go wash some new and never used lures.

I too chose to stay home today. When trees move like that at 530 am the trip to cold lake will be a waste.
My heart goes out to those at Lac des isles and those who had families affected by yesterday’s storm.

Growing up in the wind belt of So. Ab. you learn to fish in the wind or don't plan on going out too often.

That being said there is wind 20 to 40 and then the nasty stuff 50 plus which everyone should avoid if possible.

Fished several trout lakes for yrs. We just motor to the far west end and take the boat out of gear and let the wind troll us back. Quite often pushing my 16ft. at 2 plus mph but safe and still fishn. Fished Travers last Tues with a buddy and his 20ft. Crestliner. Wave were getting up there in the 3-4ft. range but his anchor mode worked great and we fished all day with the walleye biting non stop.

Hows the walleye doing in there? They were supposedly not doing well in size or numbers according to the bio people but most I know disagreed. Havent been in a while but may be worth a drive.

4 foot waves suck on any boat - but yes, the crossover has a shallower hull compared to the Tyee or Angler.

Still a great boat ..... enjoy it
