Default Alberta/Sask Lodge info?

So, got a bit of a surprise call. Super last minute trip idea to go fishing at a Alberta lodge. Any suggestions? I have been to Winefred and loved it. Might just end up back there. they have room and want $400/night with boat for 2 people (Bring your own food)

Any other ideas? I just looked at the map and it seems Prince Alberta is the same distance as well.

Seems Dad is actually interested in bringing home a few fish and thats one reason we are looking elsewhere than Winefred.

Drive in only.

Look up Richard Hanson, he has a lodge on Peter pond lake just outside buffalo narrows. We had a good time up there, caught a pile of walleye and some big pike.

Is that 400 a night based on 2 people or 400 total for 2 people?

That rate seems to be standard at most drive in place I have seen. Some a little lower, some a little higher.

$400 including boat is a fairly reasonable price. Most places charge around $200-250/day for boat rental. So $150-200 a night for two guys lodging is fair.

Keep it simple. Go to winefred and buy some walleye at Costco haha.

Wow have they ever come down in price! Few years ago we paid $500 per night with our own boat!

From what I've been hearing from my buddies that go to Winifred prices have gone up 40 to 50%

One thing that is kinda bugging me about Winefred is that I am taking my Dad who happens to be 70. Those boats are not exactly comfy when you spend all day sitting on a life jacket. I wish they had something a bit better. Looking at Pierce lake right now. They have a Pontoon boat that would keep him happy.

Price is similar. Distance is actually way closer (2.5 hours)
I dont know how the fishing would rival Winefred. We might have been extremely spoiled on our trip there. Quantity was huge and my daughter nailed a 30 pound Pike. AND, we had no idea what we were doing from a fresh water POV. I doubt the next trip will be that easy.

Has anyone been to this lake . Name of the lodge is http://piercelakelodge.com

Thanks guys.

The lodge prices at Dore are reasonable. I think the all inclusive packages are $150/person per day and boat rentals are $200/day for the 18' boats.

No kidding any boat that's for rent should have some kind of swivel seat in it

Pierce is good for Lakers and you can boat to Lepine to get pike and walleye. Also take a look at Waterhen lake, there are 2 lodges there and good boat rentals as well.

I've been to Michelle lodge on Dore Lake Sask twice.

I'd go back again for sure. Nice boats, and comfy seats.
