Darn it!!! Might not be able to make it now. One daughter has decided it is time to pop. I told her to keep her legs crossed at least till Monday, but you just can't trust these kids...
Keeping my fingers crossed.... I will have an awful lot of biscuits and burgers to eat if I don't make it, not counting my wanting to show off the new auger, and the other things I have loaded to bring. GRRRRR

If you come via hwy2 QE2 you will turn west onto hwy 12 toward Gull Lake. Go through the town site of Gull lake then around 2 S bends and you will see a sign that says Brownlows landing on the right hand side of hiway 12 (north side)

Can't wait! Hope the bite is on, from the latest posts sounds like it has been slow. It will be fun regardless of how many fish are on the ice though!

Cant wait for Saturday and just got back from the Fishin hole picking up some of those red and chartreuse green wetaskawin specials and some bait. Will be leaving Calgary with my buddy at 6am sharp so should be on the lake by 8am. Will be in a 2006 blue chevy cobalt parked by the big white tent. Cant wait to meet everyone and have a good day of fishing.

Just trying to get everything figured out . . . might just be me, but my eldest son might be coming too.

I'm not planning to drive out on the ice . . . there's someplace to park on the shore, right?

Yup, thats the road. Once you turn off of Hwy 12 at the Brownlows Landing sign, you just keep going straight until you hit the lake. There isn't much of a parking spot on shore, but the trail on the lake should be so packed down that you can easily drive on, even if you just park close to shore.

Well, my first impulse is to bail out.

My second impulse is to give it a shot and hope some generous and giving soul will have a tow rope out there: just in case.

I will push you again I was out on lake X yesterday, went out in the fog, couldnt see my ... anything. I drove all the way to the other side of the lake, and when the fog lifted I realized how deep the snow was. didnt have any problem getting back tho, just didnt stop. Kinda nice being the only person on the whole lake! And Im pretty sure the last couple bite I had was a huge burb, thought it was too black for a pike, and it didnt bite the same,

Not to worry Shelly, there will be so many people there with all the right stuff ..lol Not sure how far out we'll be, but if you're really that scared and want to park close to the shore, just call me and I will bring my truck over and grab you(s) and your gear.
