Default Looking for a new rifle

Hey everybody, I am currently looking for a new rifle a d would appreciate some input. I currently have a tikka in 300 win mag and a Browning blr in 308.

I am looking into either getting a vanguard series 2 or even stepping it up and getting a mark V or a sako 85.

Also looking into Browning good medallion.

Anyone have experience with these and what caliber do.you think would be a good fit next.

Thanks

Are you just looking for something different or do you have a specific role in mind for it? Had a Vanguard S2 in 308 and was happy with it, smooth action and accurate. Got rid of it after I went to 7mm RM Fierce as I decided I didn't need both; now I've got a 30-06 Model 70 as well - go figure.

My BIL has a few Weatherby's - extremely strong action, also accurate with the ammo they like. Sako 85 is probably the nicest of the 3 IMO, very accurate, smooth action and flush DBM.

You've got a bolt and a lever action in 30 caliber, so I'd go up to a 338 WM in any of the above, favoring the Sako, or down to a 25-06/257 Wby for a flat shooting, lighter recoiling varmint and big game hunting rifle. If you want to stick with 30 cal and reload - 300 wby.

Need a better description of what the gun will be used for. Is it just for paper and steel, carry rifle or heavy etc? Do you reload? Deer size game or are elk and moose being hunted? Long range or up close for shots? All these make a difference when selecting the right tool for the job. For a one gun that does it all I'd say you got it with the Tikka 300 WM. For something smaller you could go 7-08, 260, Creed, 6.5X47.

Sako 85 all the way, for hunting and packing threw the bush I would go with the standard 85, if you like wood i would go with the Hunter, and if your shooting long range, I would go with the 85 long range! The Mark V pretty nice also!

Sako m85 in a 270WSM fits nicely or maybe 243 to hunt predators and still be a good deer rifle .

Maybe consider the Sako A7 Roughtech Pro Stainless.

You certainly don't need bigger than the 300 for anything.

You have to give us more info though?

budget?

Deer?

Varmint?

Long Range shooting?

Go to wholesale right now. They're having a customer appreciation event and all firearms are 20% off. In store only.
