SSHHH ! It's a big secret ! Parkland county, Trans Alta, & F&W all state No knowledge of the 3 lakes existance, other than East Pit or any stocking...Tried driving around the reclamation site, no access to any of the bodies of water, and where told by (a fellow) in a truck, that we were trespassing. He stated all the land in the Whitewood reclamation site, was leased for agriculture ???
Interesting. I read somewhere too that the lake will have shallower branches to create more marsh habitat, adding more diversity than East Pit. Pretty sure you can see the lake in question on google earth.
Like I said "Big Secret"..Probably has 8 lb Bows, Tigers, & Brookies in it...for a select few County & Trans Alta friends & family. Articles stated public rec area's, boat launch, stocking in a total of 3 pit lakes, all connected to East Pit ...Hhmmm ?
