Default Active Bear Den Pics

We got a hot tip about a cinnamon bear and cub digging a den a few days ago, so Mrs. Big Bull and I went to check it out while walking the dog yesterday. I came back alone today with the right camera equipment and got a few shots. This is the first active bear den that I have seen. I'm hoping to put my game cam there in March!

Nice shots sir! Easy digging for her, but you'd think it would it would feel a tad damp, considering the water. I know they like old beaver dams too, and most of the ones I've seen have faced north. Which way is she facing?

Haha, maybe that's the plan, she doesn't want to sleep thru calving season like last year.

Big Bull thinks they will be out of the den before this area gets flooded; most likely mid May.

Very nice shots. If she hides her head... the beavers will come to her.
I hope you get some shots in the spring. Thanks for the share.

Nice pictures. I,ve got a half section pasture that before it was cleared was a denning area. The cattle make quite a ruckus from the odor I,m guessing and ripped up the dirt around the old dens.

Awesome find, great pic. Never thought one would dens so close to the river. Maybe the sound of rushing water helps her sleep. Keep them coming.

There's no way I could take decent photos like that while running at full speed in the opposite direction.

Nice work!

Great pics. If I stumbled on that, I would likely need to change my shorts.

I should have mentioned that I was at least 100m away and on the other side of a river from the den, using a 100-400mm lens with a 1.4x teleconverter, and also cropped the pictures a bit. I didn't stick around long, took about a dozen pics and left.
