Very cool. In what reach of the river?

Or maybe you have discovered the Lost North Saskatchewan Motherlode Gold Mine. Where all the fine gold comes from. Eureka!!

Grest pictures. Gotta wonder how she got through that small hole or if some back filling was involved ?

Thanks everyone, I've been in a photography slump for a while. Finding this bears den was just the kick in the pants that I needed!

Grizz, I'm pretty sure that she hauled a bunch of grass in the den and then pushed some more dirt up around the opening. I'll check on it in a few weeks to see if she has coverred up the entrance some more.

Very neat discovery. I wonder if the cub is in there with her. It's good to hear that you were well back when you took the pics. Hate to think she was disturbed and decided to move.
Great find.

This bruin even has some basic carpentry skills. The photos are absolutely incredible, thanks for taking the time to get them and share with all of us.

Cool pictures!
Uh, I was right with you until after " The other side of the river from the den"!

No sir: When yogi and boo boo start wandering the pasture the cattle sort of bunch up until the bear busters come along.

Very cool pics Big Bull.

The first den picture below is from a very old boar that I've known for years.

Playing fetch with the old man.....

This den belongs to a young sow. The picture is from last week just before the snow. She was all tucked in behind the pile of leaves used to fill in the den opening.

I never really payed attention to it before but these two and most other dens I've found all opened to the north.
