Default The Downfall of the Net as a credible news source

On a daily basis I like to peruse the different Medias as a source of world events etc. Huff Post and Sun News being two of the most amusing and
In a lot of cases absurd . But stories only they will touch are later picked up
By the so called credible sources , CBC , Global , CTV and so on .
I started noticing the problem in the attached video ,quite a while ago .
I think trying to make advertising appear as informative news is self
Explanatory as to what is wrong with that .

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E_F5GxC...utve06_59AE%3D

Every rational person knows " no pics it didn't happen " We have come to
A point that the media is taken with at least two grains of salt now.
But there are still people who believe that if it was on TV it's true ,
Like the south half of the USA , the Maritimes , Saskatchewan ...

Drudge report. Matt Drudge has broken a lot of things to be called a nut and tin foil, only to have the "credible" news sources pick it up later.

For Canada, the Little Report. Canada's Drudge.

Most of the news is scripted.

So many people don't know it and gobble up what they can.

Well, I guess we don't have to worry about Winch's daily Huff posts anymore. He finally realizes it's all hokum.

More time now to train another beardeded wonder dog, eh Winch?

Default Who do you think

Reads those stories to me .....Now if I could just keep him off
That Pethouse site there would be a lot less leg humping .

The main reason I'm passing on the Huff is that it ,doesn't quite
Get the rise on here ,it use to . I think the rable have been conditioned
Not getting as much exercise ,jumping to conclusions ....I'm
Optimistic that a new herd of mooks is just on the horizon .

Doesn't matter what's posted from where.

Some feel the Sun news network is crap where others hail it as a wonderful source of news.

Drudge is the same, infowars is the same although they have broken some large news stories - they were considered loony at the time, but once the MSM took hold...

Is this any surprise? The Internet is just catching up to televised or printed media. All forms of media reporting have gone into the crapper. Being a journalist used to mean something. Facts were checked, stories were verified, evidence was put forward. Now its a race to see who can publish it first, regardless of whether or not the information is correct. In some cases, parts of the story are down right fabricated.

Sites like Huff Post are nothing more than whats called "Click Bait". They don't provide anything newsworthy and in most cases just regurgitate old news stories or videos from years ago to draw people to their websites which are nothing more than sorry excuses for the sale of advertisements. Their pages are 97% ads, 2% old or bogus news story and 1% white space.

I cant tell you how many posts I've marked as Spam on facebook. If it has a title like "Car purchased from dealership, I was SHOCKED at the result!" or Photos that will melt your heart, number 12 made my heart sink!" are all clever ploys to draw visitors in the hopes the viewer will have a hard time finding the actual photos and click on an ad thinking its what they were looking for.

I wouldn't trust ANY news source to tell me the truth. They all have their bias, and they all exclude news stories or only tell part of the story to suit their agenda on occasion. And if you think "journalists" or networks don't have their own agenda's...you haven't been watching the news.

Those stupid fake stories on Facebook that seemingly everybody shares are really annoying. The fact that these stories get shared is a pretty clear indication that many people are either stupid or will share anything without looking into the link.
