Default Fly rod combos at Cabelas

Does anyone know if there is a better selection of fly rod and reel combos in store or is it the same as the online selection? Live out of town so would like to know before buying online. Looking for TFOs or other brands with good warranties. TIA!

Before you buy if you can check out The Fishing Hole. Often they will price match a better quality outfit. And there summer sale should be happening soon.

The Fenwick Aetos is on sale at Cabelas. Awesome rod for the money with great reviews.

Aetos used to be a Greys XF2 until PURE FISHING bought out Greys. Don't think you would be disappointed with this rod

Was in Cabelas edmonton south a few weeks ago, the shelves were nearly bare in the fly fishing section. Fly rods haven't been stocked up in over a year. Not worth the trip. Go to the fishing hole or Reids Fly Shop at 168 st and 100 Ave.

Selection is definitely not better in store. It may be better online in fact. I've bought stuff online and then picked it up in store. Cabela's has great sales, you just have to watch for them. As mentioned above, I've also heard a lot of good things about the Fenwick Aestos. Having said that, the Fishin' Hole rocks.

Since when does the Fishin Hole price match? I have asked a few times and they always flat out refused. Cost them a few large sales. As much as I like to support the local shops its hard to justify when Cabelas has a large ticket item for 30% less.

I love my Aetos 8wt. I broke the tip and they are replacing it no questions asked.

I may get some flack for this but have you considered a Maxcatch rod. The quality is actually amazing for a MIC product. Price is hard to beat.

Most of the time I do this. Easy to order on line and free shipping to the store.
