Default Cold Lake

Hi gazin16,
I headed out to the lake about 3 weeks ago. I was there early. I used a 2 oz. bucktail jig with a hering, 1 oz. jig with minnow and no luck. I moved all over the lake and was using my fish finder. I saw quite a few smaller fish (not very deep) and a bunch of fish at about 120ft. Not one bite the whole day. It was my first time at this lake, I managed to talk to some locals and people who had success in the past, I didn't hear or see one person with a fish on the ice. Long drive from Edmtn for no fish.
Were you using something different for a presentation?
Thanks,
MM

Have to use anchovies for bait, nothing else works. Just put a piece on you bucktail

I was in anywhere from 80-105ft of water, as for lures and bait i think the northland flyers are pretty good and they will hit without bait but it does'nt hurt to add a piece of herring or anchovie. I find you always have to be moving the lure for them to take notice and strike.
