Hi BBJ,
I believe this is the first year that recorded/electronic calls are legal, but only for snow geese, and in conjunction with spreads specific to hunting snow geese.
In the General Prohibitions section of the regs, it states:
Quote:
It is unlawful to
5.) set out, use or employ any of the following items for the purpose of hunting any wildlife:- an arrow equipped with an explosive head,
- a firearm that is capable of firing more than one bullet during one pressure of the trigger or a firearm that can be altered to operate as such,
- a light,
- a shotgun of a gauge greater than 10,
- a device designed to deaden the sound of the report of a firearm,
- recorded wildlife calls or sounds, or an electrically operated calling device, except when hunting snow geese with the use of calls or sounds that mimic snow geese and the hunting does not occur with the use of decoys that mimic migratory game birds other than snow geese.
- a pistol or revolver,
- live wildlife,
- a swivel set or spring gun, or
- a poisonous substance or an immobilizing drug.

Hope this helps,
Stinky B.

Heh! Fer sure! Just like when I give each of my 3 kids a mouth call, and have 'em go at 'er simultaneously...
Oh well, at least you have something to practice along with... I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually permit using electronic calls for predators.
Have fun out there, BBJ!

Electronic calls can now be used to hunt crows, black billed magpie, coyote, red fox and wolf (using sounds that mimic the animals or
rodents
Copied from the important changes for 2009 page of the hunting draws booklet.
